Vanderbilt PR Society to Host Fashion Show to Benefit Shoe Charity
THE VANDERBILT PR SOCIETY ANNOUNCES FUNDRAISER FASHION SHOW TO BENEFIT SOLES4SOULS® Inc. — NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.
Nashville, Tennessee – September 14, 2010 – The Vanderbilt Public Relations Society has announced that they will be hosting Scene & Heard, a fundraiser fashion show benefiting Soles4Souls, the Nashville-based international shoe charity that distributes shoes to people in need in over 125 different countries worldwide.
Scene & Heard will take place in the Sarratt Cinema on Vanderbilt’s campus on October 10, 2010, beginning at 6 p.m. With 320 expected guests and featured designers such as Dylan Stephens, Alain Patterson, and Nicole Cooley, Scene & Heard is expected to be one of this fall’s highlighted events in Nashville fashion. In addition to enjoying the work of some of Nashville’s most prestigious designers and models, guests will learn more about the efforts of hometown charity, Soles4Souls, as well as have the opportunity to make financial donations to benefit children and adults in need of footwear.
“We are very excited to host an event that will display the work of some of Nashville’s top fashion talent to our community, as well as do something that will benefit others,” said Imani Ellis, President of the Vanderbilt PR Society. “Here in America, we have so many wonderful ways to express ourselves through fashion, but we often forget that in some countries, something as simple as a pair of shoes can save someone’s life.”
In preparation for the event, the Vanderbilt Public Relations Society will also be participating in the Soles4Souls Fundraiser to raise funds for event expenses. The Soles4Souls Fundraiser is an innovative, philanthropic alternative to traditional fundraisers that allows organizations to raise important revenue through the sponsorship of new shoes for children in need.
