SONY SHOWCASES EXPANDED HIGH-RESOLUTION AUDIO PRODUCT LINE-UP WHICH DELIVER OUTSTANDING DIGITAL MUSIC REPRODUCTION
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2014 (CES Booth #14200) – Sony is showcasing its entire line-up of premium High-Resolution Audio products at CES 2014, continuing to provide music enthusiasts with both the best playback quality and convenient access to digital music as the artist originally intended it to be heard. Building on the wide range of Hi-Res Audio product offerings introduced last year, many of these products are being demonstrated for the first time and include Hi-Res capable audio/video receivers, PC audio and home speakers, home theater systems, portable players, speakers and headphones.
Designed to capture the very essence of recorded music and supporting playback for virtually all high-resolution formats, the expanded line-up of High-Res Audio entertainment products are expected to be available this Spring.
“When digital music burst on the scene over a decade ago, consumers sacrificed audio quality for accessibility and portability,” said Adele D’Abarno, Director of Sony Canada’s Audio group. “With the explosion of broadband access and more affordable file storage, that trade-off no longer has to be made. Sony continues to be at the forefront of audio innovation, delivering high-quality audio playback along with enhanced ease of use.”
High-Resolution Audio delivers much more information and higher fidelity than conventional MP3s, reproducing music the way the artist meant it to be heard. Embraced by performers, producers and music labels, the Hi-Res Audio initiative is ushering in a whole new generation of digital enthusiasts by enabling them to conveniently enjoy their favorite recordings with greater quality than ever before.
Whether accessing digital music from a library or downloading the latest digital recordings, Sony’s line-up includes a High-Resolution Audio device for practically any lifestyle need. Playback home audio products released so far will decode MP3s, Hi-Res PCM or the newest DSD files and play the music at the highest quality. They also simplify the file transfer process and make it more convenient by doing it all automatically. In addition, their controls, including the user interfaces, have been designed to make storing, organizing and accessing high-resolution digital music a breeze. Further, Sony’s S-Master HXTMdigital amp technology which was specifically developed for High-Resolution Audio, reduces distortion and noise at wider frequency ranges allowing the reproduction of high frequency sound in detail. The DSEE HXTMupscales existing sound sources to near high-resolution sound quality, enhancing the experience and making listeners feel as if they are at the recording studio or concert.
