Sony Electronics Announces Pricing and Availability Details on New Premium 4K HDR Ultra HD TVs
TORONTO – February 15, 2017 – Sony Electronics announced pricing and availability details today on its newest lineup of 4K HDR Ultra HD televisions, the XBR-X900E and the XBR-X930E/XBR-X940E series. All are available for today from Sony and other authorized dealers nationwide and will be available in stores in March 2017.
Dramatic Contrast and Brilliant Colour
All of Sony’s new premium 4K HDR Ultra HD televisions support HDR (High Dynamic Range) and reproduce dramatic contrast with rich, brilliant colour. The XBR-X930E/XBR-X940E series includes Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme ™ advanced image engine to improve colour accuracy, contrast and clarity and supports HDR10, HLG1, and Dolby Vision™2 for viewing HDR content. Sony’s unique technologies provide a better HDR experience with greater clarity and a wider range of colours and contrast: the TRILUMINOS™ Display maps colours from a wider pallet, Super Bit Mapping™ 4K HDR reveals creates a smooth, natural picture without "banding," dual database processing reduces on-screen noise while maximizing clarity, Motionflow™ reduces motion artifacts for smooth, natural motion reproduction, all deliver a more realistic picture with subtle shades and depths of colour and dramatic brightness and black levels.
Sony TVs Powered by Android™ TV
These new 4K HDR Ultra HD TVs are powered by Android TV which brings movies, TV shows and thousands of apps into the home, making it easy to watch broadcast and cable TV, download entertainment, and use as a gaming device. TV lovers can enjoy hit shows and timeless movies from Google Play™, Amazon Video, YouTube, Netflix, and others.
Google Assistant™ Built-In
With the Google Assistant built-in3, users can quickly access entertainment, get answers and control devices around their home. It's also easy to find the latest blockbuster, check the score of the big game or dim the lights. To get started, just press the mic button on the remote.

The XBR-X930E/XBR-X940E Series
The XBR-X930E series delivers superior brightness and exceptional contrast with the new Slim Backlight Drive+, an improved grid-array backlighting system which boosts brightness and black levels for better contrast. X-tended Dynamic Range PRO x10 provides 10 times the contrast range compared to a conventional LED TV. The X940E features a precision full-array boosting and dimming backlight system which allows for precise contrast and incredible brightness. By combining X-tended Dynamic Range Pro 10X with TRILUMINOS Display, the X930E/X940E can generate a massive amount of colour volume.
The XBR-X930E/X940E series both feature the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, which offers 40% more real-time processing power than Sony’s 4K Processor X1. The processor also improves HD content to near 4K HDR quality. With object-based HDR remaster, the TV can detect, analyze and optimize each object in the picture individually to adjust the overall contrast for a more natural and realistic picture.
