SOTKAMO SILVER AB: NEW ENVIRONMENTAL PERMIT FOR THE SILVER MINE

On December 7, 2020, the Northern Finland Regional State Administrative Agency has granted Sotkamo Silver Oy a new environmental permit to expand and change the operations of the Silver Mine. According to the granted permit, the total mining volume of the mine can be increased up to 1.8 million tonnes per year. The amount of ore fed to the concentrating plant can be up to 600,000 tonnes per year, which is about 10% more than the current capacity of the concentrator. Increasing the total extraction volume enables e.g. expansion of the open pit and introduction of pre-concentration on a production scale.
