South Bank London, the destination marketing organisation promoting South Bank since 1994, has teamed up with illustrators Red Gate Arts for their new summer campaign poster - The Sunny Side. The aim of the campaign is to establish an emotional connection between domestic day visitors, as well as international tourists, and the area – renowned for its eclectic mix of world-leading cultural organisations, cutting-edge attractions and open spaces. Attractions featured in the poster include the National Theatre, Southbank Centre, The Old Vic, OXO Tower, Coca-Cola London Eye and BFI Southbank. Canterbury-based sisters Ruth and Kate Samson of Red Gate Arts specialise in vintage style, detailed hand-drawings, taking inspiration from Art Deco and Bauhaus artwork.

Head of Marketing at South Bank London, Claudio Giambrone said: “as an area known for being creative and supportive of art, it made sense for us to seek out new talent with a fresh view on working with traditional techniques. And we feel that the motive of the Sunny Side tagline fully conveys the area’s vibrancy and sunny disposition – in spite of the unpredictable British weather!”

The Sunny Side posters will be on display at key locations on South Bank across 18 dedicated billboard sites from Sunday 21st June 2015, day of the summer solstice. Locations will include Waterloo Station, Sutton Walk, Jubilee Gardens and along the South Bank Riverside Walkway. The posters will be on display until the end of September 2015.
