Industry endorses University’s football degrees
Football Studies and Football Studies and Business degrees at Southampton Solent University have been awarded a number of major new industry endorsements.
The League Managers Association, Professional Football Coaches Association, Institute of Football Management and Administration and Professional Football Administrators Association, have all commended the quality of the football-specific education that Solent students receive while studying on the courses.
“These endorsements speak volumes about the quality of our football degrees here at Solent University. These organisations represent the interests of football managers, coaches and administrators working at the highest levels of the game,” says Dr Richard Elliott, course leader for Football Studies with Business and Director of the University’s football research centre.
Home to the Lawrie McMenemy Centre for Football Research, the University carries out research and consultancy projects for national and international football organisations.
The success of the courses are reflected in the work placements, internships and jobs with top clubs that past students have obtained, such as Southampton FC, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC and Manchester City FC.
“Existing and prospective students can feel comfortable in the knowledge that key industry partners believe that our degree courses meet the standards required to produce highly-skilled graduates, who possess the specific skills and knowledge to secure employment across a range of roles in professional football," Dr Elliott adds.
