BA (Hons) Graphic Design students at Southampton Solent University displayed their dynamic, creative, and awe-inspiring work at the final-year degree show preview last week.

Over 80 final major projects showcased the students' diverse experiences and influences, ranging from innovative mobile app designs to studies of traditional cottage industries.

Senior Lecturer, Steve Lannin said: “The variety and scope of this year's show was excellent. It was full of innovation, creativity and thought-provoking pieces.”

Jack Ellerby looked into the history of the eye for his final project. During his studies he combined his passion for music and graphic design which has led to an internship with Adele’s record company XL Recordings. Of his time at the University he says, “Using a different range of technologies has been hugely beneficial and I've loved learning about people like my hero Malcolm Garrett - an iconic designer within the music industry."

Lauren Jones, who is starting an internship with Esquire magazine in September, utilised traditional screen printing methods for her final project. Speaking about her time at Solent she says, “The tutors are really approachable, you can follow your own path but they are always there to guide you through and give advice.”

The exhibition, which previewed on Friday 13 June, is open to the public until Friday 20 June, from 10.00am - 5.00pm at Southampton Solent School of Art & Design, Level 2, Below Bar, 9 Castle Way S014 2BX.
