Four fashion students from Southampton Solent University will be heading for New York City this summer, having secured highly sought after internships at luxury fashion and style house Hugo Boss.

BA (Hons) Fashion Management with Marketing final-year students Emily Hagues, Elise Parkes, Thelma Dhlovu and Catherine Ford were selected over thousands of applicants from across the globe, for the six month internships.

Thelma will be working with Hugo Boss' senior visual merchandising manager on the company's showroom and window displays in NYC's luxury department stores, while Emily will help manage women’s sales to Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's.

Catherine, who acquired valuable experience working at British fashion retailer All Saints, will deploy her skills at Hugo Boss merchandising, while Elise will work in gifting and product placement, helping manage the Hugo Boss PR closet of sample clothes and accessories.

Course Leader of Solent’s Fashion management with marketing degree Israr Jan-Parker says: "It is a superb opportunity, and very rare that four students, not only from the same university but from the same course, are offered these positions."

Israr continues, “Work placements and live projects are an integral part of our industry-focused degrees, creating confident and employable students, ready to enter the graduate job market.”
