Report this content

In response to the stay at home orders across the world, the State Tourist Board of Baden-Württemberg (SouthWest Germany) has created a website highlighting the beauty, adventure, history and activities that visitors can experience in the comfort of their own homes. #Dreamnowvisitlater is the name of the game as you can plan your trip now for an intoxicating adventure later.

These are difficult times. Traveling is not something we are contemplating in the immediate future but we are planning. We know that many of you are using this downtime to research well-earned vacations in the future. We also know that you have a vast range of choices and we would like for you to consider SouthWest Germany in your bucket list. Please visit our special site, https://www.tourism-bw.com/dream-nowvisit-later to start dreaming and planning. If you see something that appeals, do get in touch. We are ready to help you plan for that special holiday, when things get back to normal.

This wonderful website takes you on virtual tours of all parts of SouthWest Germany. In the food section, you can learn how to make Linsen und Spätzle and the famous Black Forest Cake! The recipes are not difficult so you can stay at home and practice social distancing while at the same time as getting a taste of SouthWest Germany. With no less than 77 Michelin stars, SouthWest Germany has excellent food of all different types. Also, we have two different wine routes: the Baden Route from the Black Forest to Lake Constance and the Wuerttemberg wine hills around Stuttgart. The wines themselves, the walking paths, the overnights and meals are just outstanding. Of course, there is excellent beer as well and the region offers many types of beer, beer routes and brewing tours.SouthWest Germany is also for people who love history and romance. Germany has no fewer than 46 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the country’s very first, back in 1993, was right here in SouthWest Germany. That was Maulbronn Monastery. Today, SouthWest Germany boasts six UNESCO World Heritage Sites; added in 2017 were the Caves and Ice Age Art in the rolling hills of the Swabian Alb. You can tour some of these UNESCO sites right on our website and we can send you additional links to these websites if you are interested.

The German federal state of Baden-Württemberg offers a huge variety of experiences. We love hosting families with little ones and teenagers; couples, both young and old; three generations on a ‘coming together’ holiday. This is a beautiful part of Germany, with clean lakes, deep forests and rolling hills and mountains. We are known for having some of Europe’s best hiking and cycling trails. For contrast, our cities offer everything from classical and pop music to art and museums.

The website with its virtual experiences highlights Things to Do, Destinations and Experiences and Plan Your Trip. There are hundreds of possibilities and themes that you can plan and combine – cars and museums in Stuttgart, wine trails, spas and the art museums and concert halls, medieval university cities and glorious gardens. Discover our elegant palaces and fairy-tale castles; you will relax in cheerful cafés and family-run taverns. No matter where you will go, the welcome in SouthWest Germany will be swarm and genuine. https://www.tourism-bw.com/dream-now-visit-later
