SPANFELLER MEDIA GROUP TAPS PAUL TURCOTTE AS CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

New York, NY (January 23, 2012) — Spanfeller Media Group (SMG)—producer of mega food site The Daily Meal and newly launched active lifestyle site The Active Times—continues its swift expansion, announcing the appointment of Paul Turcotte to Chief Revenue Officer.

The addition of Turcotte comes at the heels of an explosive year for SMG’s maiden website, The Daily Meal, which experienced a remarkable 100% growth in 2012, according to comScore data. This success made way for new positions at the company, including a Chief Revenue Officer, and Turcotte’s high-level experience easily aligned him for the role.

President and CEO of Spanfeller Media Group, Jim Spanfeller, last worked with Turcotte on the launch of Yahoo! Internet Life (YIL) magazine, one of the most successful magazine launches of its time. Since then, Turcotte has held a number of high-level roles in media. He was Senior Vice President at Hachette-Filipacchi Media, where he managed both corporate and digital sales for leading brands like Women’s Day and Elle, and was Vice President and Publisher of Premiere Magazine, including its digital, mobile, and broadcast properties. Turcotte also served as Senior Vice President and Advertising Sales Director of Sirius/XM Radio and Vice President/Publisher of Men’s Health Properties.
