SpareBank 1 SR-Bank raises mortgage rates

On Thursday, Norges Bank raised its policy rate to 2.50%. The rate hike was in line with earlier forecasts and due to persistently high inflation. As a result of the rate hike, SpareBank 1 SR-Bank is raising its rates for mortgages and deposits by up to 0.25 percentage points.

“Norges Bank is raising its policy rate to prevent inflation from becoming entrenched. We would encourage customers who are concerned about their personal finances due to the higher rates and costs to contact us for advice,” says Roger Lund Antonesen, Executive Vice President Retail Market, SpareBank 1 SR-Bank.

SpareBank 1 SR-Bank’s new terms will apply to new loans from 8 November and to existing loans from 20 December. All mortgage customers will receive information via their online bank or a letter in the mail about how the change in interest rates will affect them.
