This madcap motoring challenge sees teams spend four days from 29 September to 2 October starting off in Dover, Kent and driving down through France to Monte Carlo on the French Riviera. The only criteria is that the cars must cost £100 or less with full tax and MOT and each team must raise £1,500 towards the work of the Martha Trust which cares for people with profound disabilities.
The Three Amigos (Paul Ashcroft, Alex Maley and Tim Hance who have ponchos, sombreros and fake moustaches to complement their cactus-decorated “old banger”) are spending an amount equivalent to a speedeloans payday loan on the car and fuel – showing just how far £250 can go!
Gary Miller-Cheevers (CEO of speedeloans) is so impressed by this unique way of potentially using a payday loan that he has pledged a generous £500 to the cause as well. He says:
