SPINNOVA® fibres included in BESTSELLER’s collection for the Danish Olympic and Paralympic athletes

BESTSELLER brands JACK & JONES and VERO MODA have designed the official collections for the Danish Olympic and Paralympic athletes since 2008. This year, the collection includes three t-shirts made with SPINNOVA® fibres. One of the t-shirts is available from the VERO MODA brand, marking their first product containing SPINNOVA® fibres. The red and white t-shirts are made from a blend of 30% wood-based SPINNOVA®, 65% cotton, and 5% elastane. The t-shirts are the second batch of products launched commercially, which are made with SPINNOVA® fibre from Spinnova’s and Suzano’s joint venture Woodspin’s factory.

The collection is based on BESTSELLER’s sustainability strategy, known as Fashion FWD. This strategy involves, for example, a commitment to sourcing and using materials proven to have a lower environmental impact on the climate than conventional materials. BESTSELLER aimed to obtain a high percentage of certified materials when selecting materials for the official collection. Spinnova has been a long-term partner of BESTSELLER and an integral part of achieving its sustainability strategy.

With this collection we push ourselves to explore innovative materials with a lower environmental impact. Spinnova has proven to be a strong partner for us, and we wish to explore how we can increase the use of SPINNOVA® fibres in our garments,” comments Allan Jung Thorbøll, International Buying Manager at JACK & JONES.

We are proud to support BESTSELLER as they continue to advance their sustainability strategy. Collaborating on their third product with SPINNOVA® highlights our shared commitment to lowering emissions and mitigating climate change in the fashion industry. It reinforces BESTSELLER’s leadership in making sustainable fashion mainstream and accessible for global consumers. We are also glad to see the second Bestseller brand, Vero Moda, using SPINNOVA® fibres in their collections,” says Spinnova’s CEO Tuomas Oijala.

Spinnova and BESTSELLER began their joint development partnership in 2020 and in 2022, JACK & JONES became the first BESTSELLER brand to use SPINNOVA® in a consumer product. BESTSELLER is the first major global fashion group to launch multiple consumer products with significant volumes made with SPINNOVA® fibre and under different brands. The BESTSELLER brand JACK & JONES has previously launched a pair of men’s trousers made with SPINNOVA® fibre in October 2022 and a t-shirt in three colours in April 2024.

Spinnova – The textile material innovation

Spinnova technology transforms the way textiles are manufactured globally. Based in Finland, Spinnova has developed breakthrough patented technology for making textile fibre from wood pulp or waste, such as leather, textile or agricultural cropping waste, without harmful dissolving chemicals.

Spinnova technology creates no side streams in the fibre production process, and SPINNOVA® fibre has minimal CO2 emissions and water use, as well as being biodegradable and recyclable. Spinnova technology uses a mechanical process that gives the fibre the look and feel of a natural cellulosic fibre such as cotton.

Spinnova’s shares (SPINN) are listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland.
