Thrive, the Cheshire-based Brand Communications Agency, has won a prestigious design award. The agency scooped a top prize in the ‘Best for Web Websites Awards’ for the development of a new website for Bramham International Horse Trials.

Bramham Park near Leeds hosts an International Horse Trials event each year. When the event organisers decided to redevelop the website, Thrive’s insightful proposal highlighted that a large proportion of visitors to the website used mobile devices. The website also held a large amount of information so the redesign had to be carefully considered and be mindful of the overall user experience.

Following launch, the new website saw mobile traffic rise from 40% to 62%, facilitated by the clever use of menus and links. Compared to the previous year, overall traffic also increased by an impressive 40%.

The ‘Best for Web Websites’ awards are judged by a panel of industry experts who consider each entry against stringent criteria that includes the overall website design, interpretation of the client brief, excellence in performance and delivery, innovation in design and how the website contributed to an increase in web traffic.  Thrive’s redesign for the Bramham Horse Trials more than proved that they had delivered in all of the principles.

Founder and Managing Director Dave Powell said “At Thrive, we don’t take a project on face-value. Instead, we work with the client to understand their exact requirements and how this can be best interpreted whether it’s through digital or print formats or a combination of the two. To be recognised with an award, especially one that has been decided by a panel of industry experts is a fantastic achievement for the entire team. To see the success that the new website has attained since the relaunch is incredible. We have been working with Bramham for the past 6 years and in the past have produced event materials through to press campaigns.”

“Laura Jennings from Bramham International Horse Trials said “Thrive have been great to work with during the development and build of our new website. They have listened to what we want, and suggested some innovative and interesting ways to show the information that we want to. The website is fresh and modern, without losing our traditional ‘feel’.”

Amongst Thrive’s current portfolio are Claire’s, Graham & Brown and The Victorian Chop House. Thrive is based in Beartown, the affectionate name given to the market town of Congleton, Cheshire.
