Calling all chilli connoisseurs, spice fiends and hot sauce specialists: there’s a new bad boy of hot stuff in town who goes by the name of Lingham’s Extra Hot Chilli Sauce and he’s perfect for those who like things saucy, spicy and a little hot under the collar. 

Lingham’s Extra Hot Chilli Sauce is somewhat different to its contemporaries. For a start it’s an all-natural sauce made with just four ingredients: fresh chillies, sugar, vinegar and salt. There are no preservatives, colourings, artificial flavours or nasty surprises. The sauce has a definite ‘kick’ thanks to the main ingredient, Bird’s Eye chillies, which deliver an intense heat rather than a ‘burn’. This also means that a little goes a really long way! 

The versatile Lingham’s Extra Hot Chilli Sauce is a multi-use condiment and will quickly become a store-cupboard staple:

  • turn up the heat in a home-made pasta sauce or stir fry
  • slather over grilled sausages for spicy hot dogs
  • add a splash to a comforting Cottage Pie
  • toss a tablespoon into soup on a cold winter’s day
  • kick-start the humble full English breakfast 

The Lingham’s sauce recipe was created by an Indian national during the British Colonial era and was specifically aimed at the English palette. The same recipe is used today as was first devised in 1908.
