Thrive Creative launches Tour of Britain in Cheshire for Cheshire East Council
Cheshire-based Brand Communications Agency, Thrive Creative, has created a distinctive identity and website for the Tour of Britain – Britain’s premier cycling event – when it visits Cheshire East for the first time on Tuesday 6thSeptember.
The new identity that Thrive have developed for Stage 3 of this iconic road cycle race includes a logo incorporating elements of the Cheshire East Council logo. And to make sure the people of Cheshire East know exactly what’s happening, Thrive have also developed The Tour of Britain Cheshire website (www.cheshiretourofbritain.co.uk) - a specific stage site - on behalf of Cheshire East Council.
Phase 1 of the website design has the basic launch details, including where to stay and places to see for visitors to the county. Phase 2 will incorporate everything a Tour of Britain follower will need to know, including an interactive guide to the finalised route, with elevations, best spectator point and Google Street View integration, and details for sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and specific engagement packages for Cheshire schools.
The website is just the first of many initiatives that Thrive will be developing to involve schools, communities and businesses in supporting the Tour in the run up to the event.
Dave Powell, Managing Director at Thrive Creative said: “We were delighted to be appointed by Cheshire East Council for this project, and feel privileged to be involved in such a historic occasion for the county – the first time the Borough has hosted the Tour of Britain. When building the website, we took a view that whilst there was an obvious requirement to include fundamental and important information such as the proposed route and the best spectator points, we wanted to enhance the visitor experience and integrated Google Street View into the design. In the coming months we’ll be working closely with Cheshire East Council to make sure that the Cheshire stage of this popular sporting event is effectively promoted to local people and visitors alike.”
Stage 3 of the race will start in Congleton and take in 182 kilometres of Cheshire countryside, including the gruelling climb towards the Cat & Fiddle, and finish later that day at Tatton Park. The Tour of Britain goes from strength-to-strength, with a top-class field of athletes expected in 2016, and forms part of the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) Europe Tour.
