Charity’s staff ‘practice what they preach’

Milton Keynes based charity Sports Leaders UK is leading by example this week, as its staff gear up to take part in Community Service Volunteers (CSV) Make a Difference Day. As part of CSV Make a Difference Day, Sports Leaders UK has pledged to support a local community centre by volunteering to redecorate its squash court. On Saturday 30 October staff will spend the day at Eaglestone Activity Centre and Squash Court, which is a vital part of the local community, and is the meeting place for many local sports and community groups. This project was an obvious choice for the charity, since a large proportion of Sports Leaders UK’s work is focused on creating opportunities and increasing participation in sporting activities in the community. Chief Executive of Sports Leaders UK, Linda Plowright said: “This is a great opportunity for staff to give something back to the community. “Sports Leaders UK’s awards and qualifications require candidates to complete an element of volunteering within their course, and I am pleased that CSV Make a Difference day will enable staff to practice what they preach.” For more information about Sports Leaders UK awards and qualifications visit www.sportsleaders.org.
