On Friday 2 July Sports Leaders UK’s National Manager for Wales will be presented with a certificate for the London 2012 Olympic Inspire Mark, by two of London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games’ (LOCOG’s) latest recruits. Mandeville and Wenlock, the official Mascots for the London 2012 Olympic Games, will present the Inspire Mark Certificate at 12.30pm on Friday at the Wales Millennium Centre. The Inspire Mark will support sports leadership and volunteering programmes in 22 counties across Wales, offering all counties the opportunity to become Sports Leaders UK Outreach Centres. As part of the programme Sports Leadership and Volunteering County steering groups will be established to support sports leadership needs across Wales. The steering groups will include representatives from schools, community groups and youth offending organisations, as well as Youth Ambassadors, who will represent the young people that this programme will reach. The sports leadership and volunteering programme will look into volunteering opportunities across the county, and will provide the opportunity for each county to organise sporting events and festivals using the London 2012 Inspire Mark logo.
