LeagueApps and Recreational Sports Sponsorship Network (RSN) Bring a New Set of Skills to Local Sports Leagues

NEW YORK, NY October 06, 2010—Sportsvite, an online community for recreational sports, today announced the launch of the LeagueApps platform for local recreational sports leagues.  LeagueApps digital functionality will enable amateur sports leagues to “go pro” with their digital solutions with online tools to help manage, organize and grow local sports leagues.

LeagueApps applications include advanced registration and payment tools, member messaging, a schedule generation application, integration with the Sportsvite.com community, and customized, fully-hosted website solutions for adult sports leagues.  Future products include mobile tools, iPhone and iPad applications and further social media integration.

“Sportsvite.com allowed us to grasp the role that local recreational sports leagues play as the driving force behind amateur sports in their communities.  With thousands of leagues creating Sportsvite league profiles, we began to fully appreciate their needs for a full digital solution.  LeagueApps is our effort to enable local sports leagues to better develop, organize and grow their sports leagues and activities” said Brian Litvack, General Manager of Sportsvite.

In conjunction with LeagueApps, Sportsvite has also announced the launch of the Sportsvite Recreational Sports Network (RSN), an aggregation of over 500 adult sports leagues linked together to meet the growing demand for national brands to reach local markets and people with active lifestyles.  The Sportsvite RSN is a first of its kind and represents over one million active adults. The Sportsvite RSN makes it easy for brands to launch targeted marketing programs that include sponsorship, product sampling, experiential marketing, retail promotions, contests, and digital activation through the Sportsvite.com community LeagueApps websites.

Sportsvite has been connecting brands with leagues for more than three years and the network was officially formed to better communicate opportunities to brand and league partners. Recently, Sportsvite worked with Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, a chain restaurant with more than 60 locations primarily across the Eastern U.S.  Sportsvite created a platform for the chain’s individual locations to sponsor local recreational sports league within the community, offering players discounts, sponsorship and post-game meals.  The program was launched in towns and cities from Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale to Warwick, Rhode Island and Tyngsboro, Massachusetts and was highly successful at increasing traffic and sales at Smokey Bones restaurants.

Pete Bell, Vice President of Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, added “Sponsoring local recreational sports leagues allowed both existing and potential guests to connect directly with the brand in a unique and experiential way."

Sportsvite is committed to working with many of the 15,000+ adult recreational sports leagues in the USA.  It also will look to expand into new recreational sports segments that can utilize advance digital tools for registration and organization including intramurals, youth sports, sports camps, tournaments, endurance races, international sports leagues and high school sports associations.

“Recreational Sports Leagues permeate our communities and bring people together in every city, town and neighborhood across the country. League organizers do a tremendous job producing local sports event and putting together sports events and activities.  We believe Sportsvite and LeagueApps can support their core competencies by teaming up to enhance their digital and sponsorship efforts. It’s one of those “everybody wins” deals for Sportsivte, local leagues and the players who participate in local sports” said Brian Litvack.
