Today marks the first day of trading for Cyclezyme AB Gosol Energy Group AB, a Swedish biotechnology company that develops enzymes and processes for the breakdown of mainly PET-based plastic products, commonly found in packaging, textiles, and composite materials.

Based in Lund and founded in 2020 from years of research at Lund University, Cyclezyme's core business is the development and commercialization of advanced enzymes and processes, specifically aimed at breaking down PET-based plastic products. These types of plastics are prevalent in packaging, textiles, and composite materials. Cyclezyme's technology employs enzymatic recycling, a process where enzymes efficiently break down the plastic to its basic components, completely without the use of solvents or harmful chemicals, a stark contrast to conventional chemical methods. This enzymatic method also enables the recycling of products that are currently non-recyclable with traditional techniques.

Recently, in close connection with its listing, Cyclezyme has carried out a new share issue to finance and further develop its business strategy and technology. The goal is to continue with in-house laboratory experiments to validate enzymes and processes for various materials, and then scale up these results for later implementation in a pilot plant.

With the commencement of trading on the Spotlight Stock Market today, we create the opportunity for the public to become shareholders and support a more sustainable handling of plastic. Since the inception of Cyclezyme in 2020, it has been my ambition to make investments in the company accessible to everyone. I believe that climate and environmental issues engage many people, and now we are giving them the chance to be part of the solution by investing in our business," comments Peter Falck, CEO of Cyclezyme.
