First day of trading in SPACett
Today is the first day of trading in SPACett, a Swedish acquisition company, or SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company). The company aims to raise capital and within 36 months complete the acquisition of one or more unlisted target companies.
SPACett is a Swedish acquisition company, a so-called SPAC, which was established by Gerhard Dal and Per Nilsson. The company aims to acquire an unlisted company within 36 months. SPACett's investment strategy is to identify and implement an acquisition of a company that can create value for shareholders over time, for example through organic growth and/or acquisition growth. Potential target companies include primarily unlisted companies in the Nordic region, with a company value of approximately SEK 100–500 million, and with a proven business model that benefits from the digitalisation trend.
Spotlight introduced a new set of rules on September 1, 2021, which enables the listing of SPAC companies. SPACett is the first SPAC company to be listed on Spotlight Stock Market.
“With the IPO of SPACett, we are now initiating active dialogues with companies that want to benefit from our capital and our platform. We are well financed and with 1,400 shareholders we want to help an attractive target company to the stock market. Entrepreneurs as well as investors and company brokers are welcome to get in touch to discuss what opportunities we can offer. Unlike a traditional IPO process that is characterized by great uncertainty, we can offer companies a smoother, more predictable and cost-effective way to the stock exchange,” says Marcus Bonsib, CEO, SPACett.
“Today, trading in SPACett begins and we wish the company a warm welcome to Spotlight. SPACett is the first listed SPAC company on Spotlight Stock Market and it will be exciting to follow their journey", says Carl-Henrik Nordberg, Head of Listing, Spotlight.
