Stout Risius Ross (SRR) Expands Valuation & Financial Opinions Practice with addition of Mark J. Melancon, CFA
CHICAGO, IL / May 23, 2011 -- Stout Risius Ross (SRR), a financial advisory firm specializing in Investment Banking, Valuation & Financial Opinions, and Dispute Advisory & Forensic Services, today announced that Mr. Mark J. Melancon, CFA has joined the firm as a Managing Director. He will be based in Chicago.
Mr. Melancon has an extensive background in corporate finance and valuation. He has advised clients in a variety of industries on financial reporting matters including purchase price allocations and goodwill impairment testing, corporate tax matters, ESOPs, gift and estate tax planning, and employee stock option plans. He has also provided advisory services to boards of directors, special transaction committees, lenders, and other fiduciaries with regard to fairness opinions, solvency opinions, and other merger & acquisition planning and execution.

Prior to joining SRR, Mr. Melancon was a Director in the Financial Advisory Services Group of Houlihan Lokey. Previously, he worked in the valuation groups of Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago. In these roles, he supervised and performed valuations for a wide range of purposes and industries.
Mr. Melancon holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin. He is a member of both the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
