Love and Anarchy films to be screened again in REDI’s outdoor theatre

This October, SRV is arranging, right next to the REDI experience centre construction site, the REDI Cinema event, at which four films of the Love and Anarchy film festival will be shown one more time to the Finnish public in a unique environment.

The films to be screened are A Ciambra, Heartstone, Beyond Dreams and Close-Knit, which won the L&A Audience Award. Each film will have one screening from 12 to 14 October 2017. On Thursday and Friday evenings, the screenings will begin at 6.30 p.m. On Saturday, there will be two different screenings, starting at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“The REDI Cinema event will provide a foretaste of the new film theatre chain due to open at the REDI shopping and experience centre in autumn 2018. The arrival of the pan-Baltic cinema chain Cinamon in Finland and REDI is fantastic news for us,” says SRV’s Pia Svensk, Director of Retail Concepts, REDI.

REDI Cinema will offer a real film experience instead of the customary movie night. The venue will be a heated tent, providing all the comforts of a movie night, which will be erected in Suvilahti next to SRV’s REDI Living Lab. Instead of rows of seats, the audience will get the enjoy the film from sofas and armchairs. Local providers will be responsible for supplying movie snacks. Ticket sales for the film nights will begin at Lippupiste on Wednesday, 27 September. Tickets will cost eight euros, with a movie snack also included in the price.

“REDI Cinema is part the REDI ‘work in progress’ series of events, where we seek to bring interesting events and encounters to the Kalasatama area even before the completion of REDI. The series was opened this week by the horizon sauna, which rises to height of nearly 100 metres. Some 18 lucky winners with their friends, from the more than 4,500 people who entered a prize draw, will get the opportunity to experience sauna-bathing at nearly the same height at which the sauna facilities of Majakka, REDI’s first residential tower, will be located. The events are excellent opportunities for both inhabitants of the city, those interested in the area and REDI’s future residents and customers to meet each other and receive a taste of upcoming experiences and urban culture,” explains SRV’s Sales and Marketing Director, Anna Tapio.

REDI, implemented by SRV at Kalasatama, Helsinki, will comprise the inner city’s largest shopping and experience centre as well as eight tower buildings. Below the centre will be a 2,000-space parking facility, usable by both the towers’ residents and the shopping centre’s customers. Construction work at REDI, Finland’s largest urban construction project, was launched in spring 2015 and is expected to continue until 2023. The shopping centre will open as a complete unit in autumn 2018.
