SRV builds Europe's largest soy processing plant to Uusikaupunki

SRV has been selected as a project management contractor for a new soy processing plant project to Uusikaupunki. Project contractee is Finnprotein Oy, which will operate the factory. The factory will mainly extract protein from soybeans for the food and feed producing industries and it will be the largest full-range soy protein plant in Europe.
Finnprotein Oy’s plant will be built to Orivon industrial district of Uusikaupunki, a port town in southwest Finland. Site will include a total of 18 buildings or structures, largest of which will be a 30 meters high extraction facility and three silos of 20 meter diameter and hight of 25 meters.
International investment company Renaissance Partners is the main investor in the project alongside a group of domestic institutional investors: mutual pension company Varma, pension insurance company Etera, Pontos Group and Finnish Industry Investment Ltd. Project lenders are Nordea, Pohjola and Finnvera.
Value of the project management contract is tens of millions of euros. Construction works have started and the first phase of the project will be finished in 2013.
