SRV housing sales continues at a record level

SRV’s housing sales reached a new record last year, when the company sold total of 745 developer contracting housing units. 477 units were sold to consumers and the rest to institutional investors. The early months of the year has also started in positive trend. A new record was made in February, when SRV sold a total of 88 apartments throughout Finland.

“The change in the capital transfer tax at the beginning of March encouraged house buyers to complete their purchases early in the year and this was evident in the good February sales. Nevertheless, I don’t believe that taxes are the controlling factor when buying a new home. In March, there has been as many customers on SRV’s apartment showings as there were in the early months, says Sales Director Marja Kuosma.

SRV is one of Finland’s largest house builders. At the end of 2012, a total of 1,849 housing units were under construction, of which 586 were the company’s own production. Most of SRV’s housing projects are located in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area or the Tampere Region, but the company also has projects in area centres in the regions of Jyväskylä, Turku and Oulu.

During 2013, a total of 505 developer-contracting housing units are expected to be completed.
