SRV strengthens its earth engineering operations

SRV is strengthening its earth engineering operations by forming SRV Infra Oy from the SRV’s current rock engineering activities and the company Maanrakennus Oy Laatutyö, which SRV acquired in 2011. The new unit will start operating on 1 September 2014. SRV Infra’s personnel includes 77 persons. SRV Infra’s office will be located in the Kerca area of Kerava.
“The acquisition of Maanrakennus Laatutyö Oy has proved to be an excellent decision. The company’s revenue has more than doubled. Now we are preparing for growth in the volume of earth engineering work as our major projects kick off in the coming years. The strengthened infrastructure unit will also improve the rock aggregate resource management of our own land areas,” says SRV’s Deputy CEO, Juha Pekka Ojala.
Sami Korhonen BSc (Eng), MSc (Econ) has been appointed as SRV Infra Oy’s CEO as of 18 August 2014. He has previously served in various earth engineering positions in a number of construction companies, and since 2004 as project director in Destia, with responsibility for, among other things, Western Metro and Kalasatama Centre projects.
“SRV Infra’s business will be based on its strong expertise and entrepreneurial spirit as well as the efficient use of the company’s own equipment and organisation. The construction of the REDI underground parking facility at Kalasatama and earth engineering work at the Niittykumpu Metro Centre will represent a significant part of our order book in the next few years,” says Sami Korhonen, CEO of SRV Infra Oy.
SRV began rock engineering operations in 2004. SRV has accumulated experience of demanding rock engineering projects, such as excavations on the Western Metro and the Ring Rail Line as well as construction of the P-City parking facility and service tunnel, located in downtown Helsinki.
