Legendary flautist Sir James Galway performs for the first time at St Martin-in-the-Fields this month.

The vaulted splendour of St Martin-in-the-Fields at the heart of London hosts a concert by ‘The Man with the Golden Flute’ Sir James Galway on Bank Holiday Monday 31 May, 7.30pm. Appearing for the first time at a venue famed for performances of the highest standard of Baroque and Early Classical repertoire, the legendary flautist will present a concert of flute concerti by Vivaldi with the Brandenburg Sinfonia. Galway has delighted audiences for over 35 years with his virtuosity and vision. He has inspired countless musicians and endeared himself to millions of music lovers the world over through extensive touring, frequent international television appearances and the sale of over 30 million albums. St Martin’s beautiful acoustic, ideally suited to the repertoire, makes it the ideal venue in which to enjoy Vivaldi’s music in the hands and on the breath of the famous master. Concerts draw visitors from all over the world attracted by St Martin’s superb acoustics, intimate yet impressive surroundings and outstanding musical standards.
