ZUM'S GROUND-BREAKING WORLD FUSION

Report this content

From the melting pot of cosmopolitan London, ZUM’s ground-breaking world fusion weaves melodies from around the globe into an exhilarating musical journey. The band takes you from beauty and passion to explosive rhythmic power and includes sophisticated jazz, wild gypsy fiddling, Celtic lament and hot-blooded Arabic melody.

Adam Summerhayes (violin), Chris Grist (cello), Richard Pryce (bass), Dave Gordon (piano) and Eddie Hession (accordion) delve deep into their own roots to create a combination of folk music traditions from around the world as they continue their mission to redefine world music. Salsa, bluegrass, klezmer, calypso and bebop complement masterpieces by Astor Piazzolla and music from the golden era of tango. ZUM has performed all over the world including Finland, Alaska, Saudi Arabia and Croatia with audiences showing an appetite for their toe-tapping virtuosity and rhythmic power. This evening promises to be an extremely exciting and new experience with the “highly individual fusion…rendered with unbuttoned passion and brilliance”.
