IEZ Expo to help businesses develop and grow
Discover how Staffordshire University is helping to power up businesses across the region at its first Innovation Enterprise Zone Expo next week
From start-ups to established companies, businesses are invited to learn how they can benefit from Staffordshire University’s exciting Innovation Enterprise Zone (IEZ) – a multimillion-pound initiative dedicated to helping the local economy thrive.
Visitors to the free showcase on Wednesday 27 October will learn how businesses of all sizes can tap into funding through IEZ projects to access new markets, develop new products, drive innovative solutions, develop employee skills and more.
The IEZ is one of just 20 University Enterprise Zones in the country, supported with investment from Research England, and provides businesses with access to academic expertise, student talent, skills provision, leading-edge facilities and funded support.
Guests will also receive a guided tour of specialist facilities, including state-of-the-art labs in advanced manufacturing and materials, digital suites and scientific labs as well as office space which offers a stepping-stone for companies in the early stages of development.
Marek Hornak, Associate Dean for Employer Partnerships and Enterprise, said: “As a Civic University we want to work with SMEs to help them develop and grow, creating high-value jobs across Staffordshire and the wider region.
“There is vast expertise here at Staffordshire University and through the IEZ we have established an enterprise and innovation ecosystem offering funded support, training and high tech facilities that local businesses can take advantage of. This event is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested to find out more and see what we have to offer – we look forward to meeting you!”
The Innovation Enterprise Zone Expo takes place on Wednesday 27 October 2021, 9.30am – 1.30pm in the Mellor Building at Staffordshire University’s Stoke-on-Trent campus. Reserve your place today or contact the Employer Partnerships team to find out more by emailing employers@staffs.ac.uk or calling 0800 169 2148.
