“Like ourselves, the University place great emphasis on supporting the local community and our continued partnership will enable both organisations to engage yet further with people across the city of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.”
Staffordshire University Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes CBE DL said: “Our relationship with Stoke City Football Club has included opportunities for our students to work with the club in sports development and journalism roles which has helped our graduates further their careers.
“Earlier this year we announced a new a course for students who’ve set their sights on a career in football coaching which includes work experience opportunities with Stoke City Community Trust.
“We are very aware of the excellent work the Community Trust does to inspire young people in our community – from sport participation to supporting mental health and wellbeing – and so we are delighted to become official sponsors of the Trust.”
The extended partnership will see the Club continue to deliver a series of practiced-based masterclasses and workshops for students in areas including football coaching and business practice
