Audio-Technica MSR7

Designed for listening at home and on-the-go, the MSR7 headphones are the ultimate in comfort. Soft memory-foam ear pads fit securely and snugly around the ears, maximising comfort during long listening sessions, alongside Audio-Technica technology developed over 40-years of designing monitor headphones for producers, studios and musicians which minimises listener fatigue. The housing has also been specially shaped with ear-profiled grills to ‘mirror’ the whole ear and enhance the rich, lower end sounds, while the highly flexible swivel design helps to find the most comfortable fit instantly.

As you would expect from a company with a rich heritage in professional audio, the MSR7 headphones feature the latest audio innovations for the playback of next generation high resolution audio. At the core of the headphones are the 45mm “True Motion” Hi-Res Audio Drivers. Combining a precision diaphragm and extra light-weight voice-coil, response times are improved while sound distortion is minimised to deliver a smooth, rich and detailed audio presentation.

“Professional producers and artists have chosen Audio-Technica monitor headphones, such as the renowned million-selling M50 range, for our true reproduction of their work and we’ve strived to build these pro quality reference features into our mainstream headphones” states Robert Morgan-Males, Audio-Technica Marketing Director.

The MSR7 range will be available for demo on the Audio-Technica stand via PonoPlayer and the latest high-res tracks courtesy of Pono Music.

The Audio-Technica MSR7 is priced £179 (inc. VAT).
Colours include Gun Metal (MSR7 GM), Black (MSR7 BK) and Red (MSR7 LTD).

Audio-Technica CKR9, CKR10

Designed for music fans who demand audiophile quality sound on the go, the new Audio-Technica ATH-CKR9 and ATH-CKR10 in-ear headphones deliver a sonic performance previously only associated with larger, on-ear headphones.

With the emergence of high resolution audio portable music players and smartphones, these two ultra-compact in-ear headphones provide the perfect soundstage to experience recording studio quality sound through in-ear’s.

Using technology previously associated with loudspeakers, the CKR9 and CKR10 are the world’s first in-ear headphones to feature Dual Phase Push-Pull Drivers. Traditionally dual drivers inside in-ear headphones move in the same direction. By placing two 13mm high quality drivers facing each other, that then move together in the opposite directions due to them being wired out of phase, harmonic distortion is reduced and response times improved, while power is doubled and output sensitivity increased.

The result is a spacious, expansive but detailed sound across a wide frequency range, suiting all styles of music. On-board Bass Acoustic Resistors, Designed to control the low-end bass sounds, also contribute to delivering a clean and natural audio performance to rival that of on-ear headphones.

The CKR9 and CKR10 allow music listeners to appreciate the newly defined high resolution lossless audio standards wherever they are. The formally agreed MQ-P, MQ- A, MQ-C, MQ-D formats represent audio mastered from better than CD-quality sources. Using materials and technology from high end headphones, the drivers are enclosed in a rigid but discreet titanium (CKR10) or aluminium (CKR9) housings to minimise frequency variation, while the studded wire featured on other high-end in ear models from Audio-Technica, combined with an aluminium-sleeve plug, help to minimise cable vibration which can impact sound.

“We all want the best audio quality on the move and we're delighted that these in-ear models can reflect the hi-fi quality of larger Audio-Technica headphones,” said Robert Morgan-Males, Audio-Technica Marketing Manager. “With a small profile but big sound, these in-ear headphones offer an alternative to larger models with no compromise in audio quality. The unique driver technology we have developed allows users to enjoy recording studio quality sound no matter where they are.”

Hiromichi Ozawa, Engineering Manager, Headphone Division, at Audio-Technica Japan continues, “These headphones invite users to simply enjoy true audio and music, rather than focusing on bass. They are tuned to bring out the natural sound in your music, especially in the mid and high-frequency ranges. With the CKR9 and CKR10, we believe we have managed to achieve audio that is similar to larger headphones and much better than a conventional in-ear headphone.”

The Audio-Technica CKR9 and CKR10 are priced £170 Inc VAT and £250 Inc VAT.
