RiutBag is a one person success story designed for everyone but thieves.
The unique appeal of RiutBag is that there are no outer zips, meaning secure travel whether at work in the city with your laptop, on holiday with your gadgets or en route to a festival with vital passes. The only zips are the ones against your back – RiutBag is designed the opposite way round from other rucksacks.
Created by Sarah Giblin, a person who believes that rucksacks ignore the needs of modern commuters, RiutBag is a Kickstarter success story made real and is now available to buy at www.riut.co.uk and will ship globally.
Giblin says “I wanted to create a safe bag which changes the idea of what people think can be achieved with a new design of an everyday item. I have no background in design but I brought my idea to life with the help of the public and I hope it inspires others to look at everyday objects and see if they can’t find a better solution”.
Giblin left her job in 2014, spent time prototyping the new bag and surveyed 1000 commuters, helping create the blueprint for what would become the first RiutBag. Over 1000 people backed her Kickstarter campaign and now have RiutBags. Now Giblin is selling directly to the public after a successful public debut at The Gadget Show Live.
RiutBag in detail
The RiutBag includes a recessed top pocket for easy access to vital items like keys, wallet, passport and phone. Double zips mean your headphone cable can also be fed through, behind your neck. Hidden pockets are located in each strap, close to your body for instant access to train tickets and boarding passes. A dedicated 15 inch laptop slot allows access to your laptop without unpacking and cushioning means you can carry a laptop without a bulky carry case. Invisible strap adjustments can be made meaning no flailing straps to catch on objects or detract from the sleek design of the RiutBag.
