Hästens beds at home at the heart of the Ecclestone Square Hotel

Luxury bedmakers Hästens are delighted to be the 'bed of choice' for the world's most hi-tech hotel – the Ecclestone Square in London, opening mid June 2011.

Around £6.5 million has been spent to transform the Grade II-listed Pimlico hotel into a unique, technologically-charged retreat with rooms boasting a 46″ 3D LED television, 3D Blu Ray DVD players, an iPod dock, super-fast wi-fi and worldwide VOIP calls.

At the heart of each of the 39 guest rooms is a Hästens Adjustable bed – the Comfortable II - selected by the hotel's owners from London's concept Hästens showroom on the King's Road. Each adjustable bed is hand made by master craftsmen using layers of nature's finest materials and features an in-built massage system.

Olivia Byrne, hotel director, said: "We wanted to push the envelope on the three key areas of the hotel rooms: the bed, the bathroom and the TV. Hästens make the world's best beds and so perfectly matched our criteria. Also, the bed's variable massage feature fits our core theme of guest well-being superbly. All in all, mission accomplished and a complete success."

The Hästens Comfortable II is layered with materials including cotton, horsehair and flax and a patented progressive spring system. It features a quiet and highly effective massage system, with variable settings that range from mild relaxation to more vigorous stimulation, comfort and relaxation.

Brent Cooper, owner of King's Road Concept showroom, said: “It has been such a pleasure working with forward-thinking hoteliers that truly put their guests first. The hotel owners understand the importance of good sleep and have invested in luxury beds to ensure their guests experience real quality sleep. The hotel is a wonder, and we're delighted to be a part of something so special.”
