Mersey Optometrists, a pair of new optical practices in Liverpool, have teamed up with Kodak Lens to become the latest Kodak Lens Vision Centres in the UK.

The newly-opened Mersey Eyecare Kodak Lens Vision Centres in Park Road and Aigburth Road will now benefit from the partnership with Kodak Lens, the global leader in lens technology.

As Kodak Lens Vision Centres, Mersey Eyecare will form part of a unique charity project called The Kodak Lens Second Sight Project. The project is run by in partnership with Vision Aid Overseas and aims to help people in developing countries whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight.

As part of the Kodak Lens Second Sight Project, Mersey Eyecare will encourage the public to donate their old spectacles together with a £1 donation. By marrying the donation and spectacles, the Kodak Lens Second Sight Project ensures that the glasses reach The Third World where Vision Aid Overseas volunteer opticians are working, dispensing spectacles to those who need them the most.

Practice owner, Nadeem Syed said: “Working with Kodak Lens allows us to serve the Liverpool community not only from brand new optical premises, but also to offer lenses made using cutting edge technology. We're also very proud to be supporting the Second Sight Project, helping to restore the sight of those living in the Third World and we hope the people of Liverpool will get behind the campaign.

To donate old spectacles to the Kodak Lens Second Sight Project, visit either Mersey Eyecare Vision Centre at either 164 Aigburth Road, Liverpool or 292 Park Road, Liverpool.
