Stem cell sheep placenta extract set to be the next major trend in non-surgical anti-aging

Its devotees in Los Angeles are said to include Simon Cowell, Denise Richardson and Kim Kardashian, and now the Yorkshire-based company that has brought the O-Placenta ™ stem cell-based skincare range to the UK for the first time, is using Professional Beauty for its trade debut.

The Stem Cell Beauty Innovations (SCBI) products are at the cutting edge of science and aesthetics, and are widely used by dermatologists and cosmetic doctors in the USA, including Beverley Hills-based dermatologist to the stars, Dr Harold Lancer.  O-Placenta ™ is the most nutrient rich and potent form of ovine placenta extract.  This is ethically harvested from sheep, post birth, so there is absolutely no harm to the animals, and the extract then undergoes a purification process to produce O-Placenta™.

The range is the first available in the UK to use mammal stem cells, which encourage the increased production of collagen, glycoproteins and elastic fibres to re-energise the skin and reduce the signs of aging.  Clinical trials show them to be far more effective than fruit-based stem cells, which have started to emerge in the market.

“Stem cells are extremely hot news at the moment, with medical experts and cosmetologists exploring the many uses for these amazing cells to turn back the signs of aging,” comments Pamela Kharikhou, the Harrogate-based entrepreneur who has introduced the products to the UK.  “Clinical tests have shown the effectiveness of O-Placenta ™, which is the key active ingredient in the serum, against common conditions such as rosacea and acne – both preventing and curing – and dermatologists report patients’ skin being better hydrated and smoother after regular use of the product.”

The range comprises five retail products and one that is currently only available for professional use.  The ‘hero’ product is the Stem Cell Daily Gold Serum, made with 24 carat gold and a very high concentration of O-Placenta ™ for maximum effects.  This serum (15ml, RRP £129) helps increase elasticity in the skin, smooth the texture and hydrate the cells for the maximum anti-aging effects.  It has also been clinically proven to help treat and prevent adult acne and reduce the inflammation associated with rosacea.

The retail serum is complemented by the professional-only Stem Cell Concentrate, which can be used by skincare professionals as part of their existing facial treatments, or as part of a SCBI facial.  The highly concentrated formula works well with all types of equipment, from dermal rollers to LED lights and ultrasound, to help it penetrate deeper into the dermis, or can simply be applied by hand as part of a facial routine.  A 5ml version of the Stem Cell Concentrate (RRP £44) is also available, which clients can purchase for use at home to prolong the benefits of the facial.

The retail range additionally features two stem cell-rich products – Stem Cell Moisturiser (30g, RRP £95) and Stem Cell Eye Firming Cream (15g, RRP £95) - alongside the Antioxidant Lightening Cleanser (50g, RRP £65) and Volcanic Ash Antioxidant Exfoliant (50g, RRP £65).

“Over the next 12 months, the beauty market is likely to be flooded with products claiming to harness the power of stem cells, and indeed, you can already buy products made with plant stem cells, but SCBI’s research in the USA shows that these are far less effective at penetrating and stimulating cell renewal in humans than those taken from mammals,” explains Pamela.

The SCBI product range and SCBI-specific treatments, are being rolled out to spas, clinics and salons, and selected department stores, throughout the UK, following an exclusivity agreement with Beyond Medi Spa Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge and Edinburgh.  For more information about the products and treatments or how to become an SCBI UK partner or stockist, please contact UK sales manager Vicki Cairns of Stem Cell Beauty Innovations UK, call 01423 567822, email: info@stemcellbi.co.uk or visit www.stemcellbi.co.uk.
