Stena-Sovcomflot aims for gold in Gotland Runt

After winning Sjaelland Rundt in record time, the Stena-Sovcomflot is aiming for victory in the Eurocard Gotland Runt race. The world-class team on board the Stena-Sovcomflot during Gotland Runt consists of: - Bruno Peyron, Skipper - Steve Ravussin, Co-skipper - Linus Netshagen, Navigator - Stefan Myrälf, Mainsheet/trim - Pierre Yves Moreau, Cockpit/trim - Per Jonsson, Foredeck/trim - Johan Torén, Media Our Navigator Roger Nilson, who was badly hurt during the record breaking Sjaelland Rundt, where Stena-Sovcomflot won, set a new course record (by about 7 hours) and a new speed record for the boat (43,6 knots) – will stay on shore. Roger has had new x-rays taken and the specialists have decided not to operate his fractured shoulder, but expect 3 - 5 months of rehabilitation. A few ribs are also cracked but currently needs no further treatment. On Wednesday the 6th of July the next challenge begins in the Nokia Oops Cup – the Double Handed Race between Sandhamn and Sopot in Poland. The 6 trimarans will be sailed with a two man crew.
