Leading ferry company unveils major refurbishment on Liverpool – Belfast route
Leading ferry company, Stena Line, has invested £4.6M on its ships on the Liverpool – Belfast route.

The new look ships, the Stena Lagan and Stena Mersey, have been refurbished by £2.3M each to offer improved facilities and additional services for customers with the aim of making travel between Liverpool and Belfast affordable and hassle-free.

The ferry giant can now offer customers the same experience travelling the Irish Sea, whether they are going by Superfast from Cairnryan or Supercruise to Belfast as Diane Poole OBE, Head of PR and Communications for Stena Line, explains.

“Since acquiring the Liverpool - Belfast route in 2010, we have been working on bringing the ships and service into line with the rest of the Stena Line proposition, providing our freight and travel customers with the best possible service and facilities on the Irish Sea,” said Diane.

“We started work on the two ship refurbishments last year and successfully completed the project earlier this year.  With improved facilities and additional services customers can now enjoy the most indulgent, fun and relaxing way to get to Belfast,” she continued.

“We have invested in new lounge areas, kids play area and in our food offering.  We have also upgraded our Outside Cabins and Family Cabins and have introduced five new Comfort Class cabins per ship which offer the ultimate in relaxation and comfort.

“We know our customers want space to relax which we now offer in the new Living Room area, Stena Plus lounge and a new dedicated News Lounge.
Customers want to stay in touch while they travel so we offer free Wi-Fi and complimentary use of iMacs in our Pod Lounge.

“To keep the little ones entertained we have a kids’ climbing wall, funky seating area and Xbox Kinect.
For the not so little ones we have Teen Town, offering a range of gaming stations and of course Stena Line provides free movies throughout all sailings.

“The cabins are really the icing on the cake as our Family Cabins now offer a fridge with complimentary soft drinks, fruit bowl and a TV and DVD with a range of family films.  The Comfort Class offers a little luxury for the discerning traveller with luxurious linen and Comfort Class extras,” Diane added.

Stena Line operates the biggest fleet and the widest choice of routes between Ireland and Britain with an extensive route network including Cairnryan to Belfast, Liverpool to Belfast, Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire, Holyhead to Dublin Port and Fishguard to Rosslare.
