Survey reveals the nation’s favourite car to take on holiday
IN a recent survey leading ferry company Stena Line asked its customers what their ideal car would be to take on car-cation – with surprising results! And as Stena Line car-cations start at just £79 single, car and driver* there has never been a better time to pack it all in and get away. So what car was in pole position?
At number one is the world’s most famous spy, James Bond’s classic Aston Martin followed by, in complete contrast, cartoon classic Scooby Doo’s colourful mini-bus.
Diane Poole OBE, Stena Line’s Head of PR and Communications, said: “We had great fun with this survey and were delighted to see our customers really put some creative thinking into their ideal car to enjoy a car-cation with. 79% of those surveyed said that they enjoyed the ‘freedom and flexibility’ a car-cation provides, as people can make their holiday their own, and the variety in the top five cars really reflects this.
“Stena Line has no baggage restrictions so people have the luxury of bringing as many of their home comforts as they want plus loads of luggage; including the kids favourite toys, bikes, golf clubs, surf boards or camping equipment.
“Ferry travel is one of the most relaxing and unique ways to holiday plus there is no hanging around at check-in and there’s plenty of leg-room and places to explore onboard – you can even take a walk on one of the decks for some fresh air. Our ships have great spaces to unwind in plus delicious dining options, free movies, free Wi-Fi and kids play areas,” Diane added.
At number three in Stena Line’s survey was Bruce Springsteen’s Euro Tour Bus 2013, with Steve McQueen’s Mustang from the movie “Bullit” at number four, then the iconic Batmobile finishing in last place, at number 5.
