CoalPro Column Flotation Cells are ideal for efficient recovery of fine coal (0.2mm) particles. The high-capacity columns with low operating and maintenance costs feature Slam-Jet® spargers for greater plant yield. The CoalPro column flotation cell offers several novel design features that are critical for fine coal flotation, including:
- Multi-point feed distribution
- Internal product launders
- A removable self-closing air sparging system (Slam-Jet)
The SlamJet uses a removable, single-orifice nozzle with high-velocity air injection to create finely dispersed bubbles in the flotation column. Considered a breakthrough in column sparging technology, the SlamJet design has been accepted internationally and has eliminated a variety of maintenance problems.
Today, there are more than 60 CoalPro installations in the United States at coal prep plants in West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. International installations include coal prep plants in Italy, Russia, Canada, Australia and Ukraine.
