Eriez® 5-Star Service Center Repairs and Upgrades Scrap Drum Separators to Maintain Magnetic Strength
Erie, Pa. — Eriez’ Magnetic Scrap Drums have been used for many years in scrap metal yards to separate iron and steel from other materials. Now, through Eriez’ 5-Star Service Center, both Permanent and Electromagnetic Scrap Drums can be repaired and upgraded for optimum efficiency. The Center is located in Lake City, PA. and is staffed with trained service technicians to expertly handle even the toughest service projects.
Magnetic Scrap Drum Separators are mainly used to reclaim ferrous materials in shredded car bodies, scrap metals, municipal solid waste, wood waste, slag, incinerator bottom ash, foundry sand and minerals processing applications. Over time, scrap drums used in harsh industrial environments may wear, but can be restored with proper maintenance.
To keep the magnetic power at an optimum level, the Eriez’ 5-Star Service Center now offers a comprehensive maintenance program for Scrap Drums. Portions of the maintenance program include:
- Perform a visual inspection of shell, wiper, hub, shaft end and bearings
- Upgrade magnetic element and replace shell, if necessary
- Remove and replace coil for electromagnetic drum
- Test the scrap drum separator and ship back to customer
