Eriez’ Magnetic Belt Conveyors are Safe and Reliable

Report this content

Erie, Pa. — Eriez® Magnetic Belt Conveyors are fast, safe and space-saving systems with a firm magnetic control to continuously convey ferrous materials such as parts, stampings and containers. The magnetic force holds materials firmly to the belt and keeps them moving along the line, virtually eliminating the problem of jamming and reducing the need for manual handling.

Eriez Magnetic Belt Conveyors’ magnetic strength comes from Erium® 25, a powerful permanent magnetic material with a circuit designed and energized by Eriez. The magnet is powerful enough to hold ferrous materials on the center of the belt, eliminating the need for side rails or side wipers. These magnets can be specifically designed for many applications. The magnets within the conveyors can be manipulated to increase speed, follow the curves of a user’s line, automatically turn parts over, travel in and out of spray tanks and covey in ways that may be impractical by other methods, all while keeping materials secure on the belt.

The Low Profile Magnetic Series, part of Eriez’ Magnetic Belt Conveyors line, is designed for use where space is a critical limiting factor. The 1-5/8 inch (41mm) depth fits easily under dies and at the discharge of many production machines. Items such as scrap, slugs, stampings, punchings and small finished parts are moved along quickly without spills onto other operations.

Since a customer’s products, plant, equipment and personnel are unlike any others, material handling systems must be unique too. Eriez can design and engineer a magnetic belt conveyor to obtain the most productive, economical methods of magnetic material handling to work with limitations such as available floor space, type and performance of production machines and ambient temperatures.

Eriez is recognized as world authority in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory and inspection applications. The company’s magnetic lift and separation, metal detection, x-ray, materials feeding, screening, conveying and controlling equipment have application in the process, metalworking, packaging, recycling, mining, aggregate and textile industries.
