Eriez® Xtreme® Rare Earth Tube Circuit is at least 12% Stronger than ALL Other Existing Magnets—Penn State Study Proves Results

Erie, PA. — Eriez® continues to lead the industry by advancing permanent magnet technology to the highest level ever with the company’s new and improved Xtreme® Rare Earth Tube Circuit, which is minimally 12 percent stronger than all other magnets on the market today. These incredible results were proven by a performance test conducted by Penn State University.

The Eriez Xtreme magnet circuit is available in all Eriez Tubes, Grates and Liquid Line Traps. It surpasses previous models and competitive units with greater holding force, higher gauss rating and improved separation efficiency. For customers in the process industries, the increased power of the Xtreme has a direct and positive impact on product purity and plant productivity.

To check magnet strength, Eriez offers Pull Test Kits. When used properly, Eriez’ Pull Test Kit will help users monitor the efficiency of their magnetic separator by measuring the holding force of a magnet. A helpful video from Eriez, viewable at http://en-us.eriez.com/Products/RE6HP/, takes users through Eriez’ magnet inspection procedure step by step.

“When utilizing a pull test kit, be aware that these kits vary from manufacturer to manufacturer,” says Bill Dudenhoefer, Manager—Separation Products. “There are some pull test kits out there that include a test piece ring that is actually magnetic. This can skew the results and show a magnet to be stronger than it truly is.” He explains, “Eriez’ Pull Test Kit uses a standard non-magnetic test piece to ensure the most accurate results.”

The Eriez Pull Test Kit includes a graduated scale, (4) non-magnetic spacers- 1/4, two - 1/2 and 1 inch thick (6, two - 12 and 25 mm), a 1/8 x 1 x 3 inch (3 x 25 x 76 mm) steel plate, a 1/8 x 1 x 3 inch (3 x 25 x 76 mm) steel plate with attached radius non-magnetic spacer, a 1 inch diameter steel ball, 1/4 inch (6 mm) diameter steel ball and an instructional video, all housed in a hard plastic case. The kit is designed for use on a variety of magnetic separators. Certain accessories may not apply to some users’ separators.

Dudenhoefer notes that Eriez offers free, on-site pull test services. “If you need to check your magnet strength, you can also contact Eriez to arrange for one of our magnet specialists to visit your facility and pull test your permanent magnets free of charge.” Some exceptions do apply, so please contact a local Eriez representative for more details.
