Presque Isle Partnership Announces 2011 Events and Seeks Volunteers

Erie, PA — The Presque Isle Partnership is pleased to announce its complete slate of events for 2011, according to Joe Maloney, PIP President.   

The First Annual Joe Root’s Frostbite Open will take place Sunday, February 20, 2011 on nine holes strategically placed on the frozen bay of Presque Isle.   Bay Swim IV, a one mile swim across Presque Isle Bay, will take place Saturday, June 18, 2011.  The 21st Annual Discover Presque Isle Duathlon will take place Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31, 2011.  The 11th Annual Presque Isle Triathlon will take place Saturday, August 27, 2011. 

During the summer months, the Partnership will continue to sponsor its Sunset Music Series.  The first of six concerts  will be held on Wednesday June 15th .  Some of the other projects the Partnership will continue to support include the Waterworks Playground, Barracks Beach Windmill, Educational Panels @Perry Monument and the Lighthouse Preservation.

 All proceeds benefit The Presque Isle Partnership, whose mission is to enhance the Presque Isle visitors’ experience by developing, funding and implementing projects and programs on the Park, while protecting the natural environment.

The Presque Isle Partnership is a non-profit organization unique to the Great Lakes Region and solely supports Presque Isle State Park.
