Stewart, the recognised market leader in the manufacture and distribution of quality garden products is excited to announce they are giving away growing pots and seed trays on a first come first served basis to Garden Centres up and down the country. Their generosity will be in support of Garden Re-Leaf Day on Tuesday 13th March 2012 which will be raising funds for Greenfingers, the gardening world’s charity, dedicated to creating magical gardens for children’s hospices.

Garden Re-Leaf Day has inspired the gardening industry as well as gardening retail and production communities up and down the country in support of this fund raising, fun filled event. Projects include wacky wheelbarrow competitions and mini garden Olympics as well as schemes to transform streets with sponsored hanging baskets and the creation of a garden in a school for disabled children.

Stewart was founded in 1945 and has achieved an enviable position in the domestic market; their garden accessories are available in over 1000 outlets across the UK and Eire. They are widely recognised for innovative, practical products and give exceptional customer service.

Passionate about facilitating enthusiasm for gardening, Stewart will be donating seed trays and other products to help support organised gardening events.

Nigel Thompson, Stewart Garden Sales Director says “We are making the seed tray donations to show that Stewart wholeheartedly supports Garden Re-Leaf, the people who roll up their sleeves and get involved on the day and the valuable work of the charity Greenfingers.

“We are absolutely delighted to be involved with this fantastic nationwide event and have so much respect for the hard work that has been put into making it so special for so many.”

Comic Relief was the spark that fired the imagination of Boyd Douglas-Davies the originator of Garden Re-Leaf Day. He says “The events, large and small, will showcase our wonderfully diverse industry, some providing a lasting legacy, but all engaging with gardeners whatever their age or experience.”

Stewart’s participation in Garden Re-Leaf Day has been motivated by the 3 objectives of this event:

  1. To welcome the start of the gardening year
  2. To engage with gardeners young, old, experienced or enthusiastic beginners.
  3. To raise money for Greenfingers, the garden industry charity.

The Chairman of Greenfingers, Richard Jackson, says that “to date, 33 special gardens have been created in hospices around the country, and there is a further waiting list of hospices that need our help.”

Grow your own specialist and broadcaster, Pippa Greenwood who has teamed up with Stewart will be visiting Cadbury Garden & Leisure Centre on March 13th 2012. She will be helping customers improve their understanding of growing fruit and vegetables at home.

Stewart’s credentials in the industry are impeccable, last year they were awarded the Best of British Finalist by the Gardening industry Manufacturers Association and their Heat and Grow Thermostatic Propagator was Top in Which? Magazine’s Gardening best buy test on windowsill propagators.

Garden Re-Leaf Day is the biggest event in the gardening calendar and Stewart is delighted to be a part of this ground breaking, horticultural experience.
