STILRIDE and ChainTraced in collaboration to ensure greener steel production
STILRIDE and ChainTraced start a collaboration to gain full control and transparency in the entire production chain. The goal is to get full control over the product’s environmental impact throughout its life cycle.
STILRIDE:s unique manufacturing process STILFOLD, where a steel sheet is bent and folded by a robot, has great potential environmental benefits. Less material consumption, fewer and simpler transports of raw materials, and less need for post-construction are some of the environmental benefits. To take full advantage of these solutions, full control of all parts in the production chain is required. Therefore, a collaboration with ChainTraced is now being started.
- ChainTraced is one of the last pieces of the puzzle we need to be able to easily control our production chain and in the long run be able to guarantee that the entire production chain keeps what it promises. This is important from a production perspective, but also a way to simplify our environmental reporting of the entire manufacturing process that is required today, says Jonas Nyvang, CO-founder and CEO at STILRIDE.
ChainTraced is a Swedish startup that offers a digital platform that enables easier and safer handling of product data, such as material certificates and CO2 data.
- We encourage sustainable production which makes it fantastically fun to work with STILRIDE. There is a lot to be done in steel production and we hope that together with STILRIDE we can show the market a new best-in-practice, says Daniel Eriksson Pitt, Chief Commercial Officer at ChainTraced.
For STILRIDE, the collaboration is important both for the own electric motorcycle SUS1, which will be released shortly, but also for the collaborations that have been started around the STILFOLD manufacturing technology.
- With ChainTraced can we quickly and easily show real numbers from the production chain, and all parts become fully traceable. This means that we can always source the “right” material in the manufacturing process and easily exclude bad suppliers automatically, concludes Jonas Nyvang.
STILRIDE has recently started collaborations with, among others, the Swedish space company I.S.A.A.C and the car manufacturer Polestar.

STILRIDE is a Swedish technology and design company that will soon launch its first product, the electric motorcycle SUS1. SUS1 is also the first product to take advantage of the company's own and unique manufacturing process STILFOLD, where an origami-style process is utilized to shape advanced constructions from sheets of steel. The process not only creates extremely durable constructions, but also enables environmentally friendly and local production. STILRIDE was founded in 2020 by Tue Beijer and Jonas Nyvang.
