Press Invitation: Groundbreaking Ceremony for Beccs Stockholm

On Thursday, June 12, the groundbreaking will finally take place for what will become one of the world’s largest facilities for capture and permanent storage of biogenic carbon dioxide.

Among the speakers at the event are Sweden’s Minister for Climate and the Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari; EU Commissioner, Wopke Hoekstra; the Mayor of Stockholm, Karin Wanngård; Sophia Wikander, General Manager Microsoft Sweden; and Stockholm Exergi’s CEO, Anders Egelrud.

The program will begin at 10:30 AM with speeches from the participants. This will be followed by the ceremonial shovel in the ground.

There will be opportunities for individual interviews after the ceremony.

After the groundbreaking, a panel discussion will take place, including a presentation by Egil Nybakk, the incoming head of Beccs Stockholm, who will provide more details about the project.
