Stora Enso's Russian subsidiary Stora Enso Packaging BB today inaugurated its
new corrugated board plant at Lukhovitsy, some 130 kilometres southeast of
Moscow.

“Demand for high-quality corrugated packaging is growing in Russia, and this
investment continues the development of Stora Enso's corrugated board
production there. Stora Enso's first industrial investment in Russia was the
packaging plant at Balabanovo, some 100 kilometres southwest of Moscow, which
was inaugurated in 1998. This year its production range will be broadened to
include high-quality consumer packaging. Our second corrugated board plant in
Russia started operations at Arzamas in Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2004”, said
Veli-Jussi Potka, Executive Vice President, Industrial Packaging, at the
ceremony inaugurating the Lukhovitsy plant.

The annual production capacity of the plant will be 150 million m2 of
corrugated packaging board. The new plant, costing EUR 53 million, will mainly
serve the Moscow area, which is one of the fastest-growing markets for
corrugated packaging board in Russia. It will employ approximately 200 local
people.

Stora Enso Packaging's corrugated board plants in Russia have over 600
employees and produced more that 300 million m2 of corrugated board in 2007.
