Stora Enso’s converted shares recorded in Finnish trade register

During the 1–30 April 2004 conversion period there were 6 
conversions and a total of 32 437 series A shares were converted 
into R shares. The shares were recorded in the Finnish trade 
register today, 14 May 2004, and trading in the new R shares 
will start on 17 May 2004.

Breakdown of shares after conversion:

A shares  180 095 629
R shares  657 147 770
Total     837 243 399
