Stora Enso’s converted shares recorded in Finnish trade register

During the 5 February 2004 – 31 March 2004 conversion period 
there were seven conversions and a total of 1 036 667 series 
A shares were converted into R shares. The shares were recorded 
in the Finnish trade register today, 15 April 2004, and trading 
in the new R shares will start on 16 April 2004.

Breakdown of shares after conversion:

A shares   180 128 066
R shares   657 115 333
Total      837 243 399
