Stora Enso’s converted shares recorded in Finnish trade register

During the 1–30 September 2004 conversion period there were 2 
conversions and a total of 2 517 series A shares were converted 
into R shares. The shares were recorded in the Finnish trade 
register today, 15 October 2004, and trading in the new R shares 
will start on 18 October 2004.

Breakdown of shares after conversion:

A shares   179 057 677
R shares   658 185 722
Total      837 243 399
